Today, we're spotlighting some unsolved cases that linger and haunt our community, leaving us with questions and seeking answers. It's chilling to think that the folks behind these crimes might still be out there among us.
First, there's the 1989 case of Jim Brecker, a local factory worker found dead in his Lickingview home. Despite a thorough investigation, no suspects have been charged, and the motive remains unclear. Next, we revisit the 1985 disappearance of Barb Frank, last seen heading to a meeting with her ex-husband. Her car was found the next day, but she was never seen again. Finally, there's the baffling 2018 case of Ashley Johnson, discovered in her own backyard shed on Galena Avenue. Initially ruled an overdose, it was later classified as a homicide, but the case quickly went cold.

Hearing from our neighbors shows how these unsolved cases affect us all, not just those directly impacted. They can alter how we feel about our safety in our hometown.
